Millais Equestrian Team were at the National Schools Equestrian Association (NSEA) National Championships at the weekend.
The girls did brilliantly and were represented the school on a national level having had to qualify for these Championships earlier in the year.
Arabella M came 4th in the 70/75cm Showjumping final. She won the preliminary round out of a huge class qualifying to jump off against the top 8 teams & individuals in the final. She rode brilliantly and came 4th with milliseconds between top placing.
Lola M, Darcey H & Primrose M qualified in the 90/95cm showjumping final. Lola & Darcey jumped brilliant clears but unfortunately the team didn’t make it through to the top 8 team final. Millais were the top placed state school in the competition.
The Primrose, Lola & Darcey then competed in the Plate Championships 80/85cm showjumping final on Monday and finished team 3rd in a huge class. One of the few teams to jump all double clears. The girls did brilliantly as in a team of 3 all their scores count & the pressure was on.
Overall they all did very well, displayed lovely team spirit and took great care of their ponies. It was a long weekend but well worth it.
Millais is one of the few state schools that regularly competes at NSEA events.
